2023 Sexualized Violence: Safer Campuses for Everyone – Employee Edition Training

Sexual Violence is something that has an impact on our entire community; according to Statistics Canada, 71% of Canadian post-secondary students experienced unwanted sexualized behavior in 2019. Further, according to the Canadian Labour Congress, nearly 50% of workers have experienced sexual harassment and/or sexual violence in 2018 and 2019. This is a significant challenge for communities across Canada, and we at NIC know that we need to respond as a community to address this concern.

To respond to this cross-Canada issue, in Fall 2023, NIC Human Resources, in partnership with Student Affairs, is launching a new online training for all new and current employees – Sexualized Violence: Safer Campuses for Everyone – Employee Edition.

The training will take approximately 90 minutes to complete, and you can complete the modules over several sessions by saving your progress. After reading content, watching videos and engaging in a few activities, you will be asked to complete the end of training quiz. Once you have achieved 100% on the quiz (and waited a few minutes), you will find your custom certificate under the Awards tab. See the instructions in the Certificate of Completion module of the course to learn how to generate a custom certificate with your name and the date you successfully completed this training.
