Aligning Assessment

To pro­vide clar­i­ty and align­ment of grad­ed course work (eval­u­a­tion items) for all stu­dents, a lit­tle chart like below could be added to your course out­lines. The chart helps tie togeth­er learn­ing out­comes to eval­u­a­tion to use of AI. This is called “con­struc­tive align­ment” when all parts of a course are aligned and work togeth­er to sup­port qual­i­ty stu­dent learn­ing.

Instruc­tors: You can cre­ate such a chart in your course out­line using tables in Word or you can down­load a copy of the chart here [Word] . For each and every course learn­ing out­come, com­plete the rest of the row remov­ing the text from each table cell and replac­ing it with your respons­es relat­ed to the course.

AI Lane(s): While the space is lim­it­ed in the chart for describ­ing more details on the use of AI in demon­strat­ing the learn­ing out­come, be sure to have more details in the assess­ment and eval­u­a­tion sec­tion of your course out­line. Specif­i­cal­ly out­line tools, uses and whether a reflec­tive state­ment is required to explain the use of AI.
