Faculty Orientation to Teaching Course

The Faculty Orientation to Teaching course is designed to equip new or relatively new instructors with essential strategies and insights for fostering effective student learning while teaching at North Island College.

This six-module course explores key aspects of teaching and learning, providing practical approaches for engaging students and enhancing their academic growth.

Whether you are new to teaching or looking to refine your skills, this course offers valuable tools to support your success.

How to Enroll in the Tutorial

1. Log in to Brightspace at https://mycourses.nic.bc.ca and on the main landing page look to the blue navigation bar to see “Discover” tab.
2. Look for “2024 Faculty Orientation to Teaching Course” or search for it in the search bar on Discover page or this link will take you there directly once logged into Brightspace.
3. Click on “Enroll in Course” to add to your courses. In the future it will be found under “Discover” tab in your My Courses widget on main Brightspace page and also under the “All” tab.
4. Click “Open Course”
5. Progress through the various modules at your own speed.
